I am writing this testimonial in support of ALDONY's recent appointment of Gil Alba of Alba Investigations as "Detective of the Year". I am certain that your organization is well formed by individuals who are also deserving of recognition, however, I could not think of anyone better to receive such an honor as Gil Alba.

Gil Alba has been quite the inspirational mentor type of investigator, since I met him in May, 2003, at a seminar held in Overland Park, KS. I drove over 1,300 miles round trip to attend his seminar, "THE ART OF INVESTIGATION." I was allowed to absorb the vast knowledge and experience Gil had offered to share, thus, I did so, without hesitation. Gil is not selfish with his methods and ideas, as he strives to see that everyone has an opportunity to remain positively enthusiastic and realistic in the field of investigations. He always has new thoughts, never 'painting himself in a corner'. Without a stutter, I would attend more of his classes and seminars, as I learn something new every time we communicate.

It is an honor to write my personal endorsement for Gil Alba, for Investigator of the Year. My name is Susan DuRoss, I am a housewife, mother of 4 sons and I also work in my home office. In September of 1999, I decided to take a course at Westchester Community College . I have always been interested in Police Detective work and unsolved cases, so I was eager to enroll in the course, The Art of Investigations, given by Gil Alba. I had no idea all the work that it took to be a good investigator. Gil fascinated me, the first 5 minutes of the class.

I’ve known Gil Alba for just over a year. I’m a former New York State correction officer (recently retired). Just prior to meeting Gil, I was working on a personal project where I believed an inmate to be innocent of their crime and began doing some investigation and research on my own. In my research, I appealed to several private investigating agencies; one of which was Alba Investigations.

We believe we have been defrauded, so we decided to hire a PI to investigate this case, soon we found Gil Alba after having done some research through the Internet. We are impressed by Gil Alba's professional attitude and approach, he has provided us much information. Base on the information provided by Gil Alba, we ourselves have done some searching online and find the out more.

It pleases me very much to have the opportunity to tell you about Gil Alba. My name is Diane Patterson and I am the owner and President of Investigative Consultants, Inc., in Lexington, Kentucky. Over the years I have been approached by individuals with child custody issues, con men, lunatics, pathological liars, serious domestic issues, insurance fraud/ workers comp cases, murder, suicide, asset research, and numerous other fascinating and complicated cases.

I'm very pleased to hear that you are awarding Gil Alba with Private Investigator of the Year this upcoming May. If were up to me, he'd win every year. I am a friend of Kristine Kupka's, who has been missing since Oct. 1998.  She was pregnant with Darshanand Persaud's baby --he was adamant she not have his child-- she left with him that day and never came home.  There has been no official charge to Persaud, as he retained the aid of a lawyer immediately, and so Kristine's friends and family have had to deal with the horrific reality with no closure for over five years.

I met Gil Alba long after this award was given, through a lead from my school's job placement department. Right from our first meeting I had the feeling he was a bit out of the ordinary. Since that time I have been Gil's webmaster, from student and part time web designer to full time LLC owner, Gil has not only been a pleasure to work with, but has developed into a friend and mentor right from the start, always available to help out with cogent, solid, real-world common sense advice. Gil has helped me through thick and thin... and I value his friendship.
